Challenge 

This complex solution was originally designed and built in 2012 and was upgraded and modified in 2022 – testament to the longevity of RML machinery. 

Heavy 10 litre plastic buckets filled with loose dry mixes and recipes were putting repetitive strain on Nestle staff and becoming a safety hazard.

A core challenge with this one was to integrate many different component sections into one master automation with a unified electrical control system.  

Solution 

Our scope went beyond tub lidding and was to include a removable gravity roller conveyor, a bi-directional conveyor feeding blower, a barcode scanner and policing gate.

The solution was to include a weight checking station plus a vibrator to settle the loose powder and a rejecter system.  

In addition to the tubs, the line equipment used before the filling station was to be able to transport Regular Slotted Cartons (RSC’s) in the reverse direction back out to the packing area. 

We knew that the area around and after the filler would become dusty with product and it was important that all equipment be easily cleaned and avoid any dust traps.
